PROGRAM OF EVENTS

The Jože Plečnik Architect Foundation will present the 2026 Plečnik Awards on Monday, 25 May 2026 at 7:30 pm in the garden of Plečnik House.

This year’s professional jury, composed of Andreas Ruby (president), Blaž Budja, Mojca Gregorski, Uroš Rustja and Rok Žnidaršič, selected recipients in five categories: large-scale architectural realization, small-scale architectural realization, public space, professional publishing, and the enrichment of spatial culture. One Plečnik Award, four Plečnik Medals, and one student scholarship will be awarded.

The ceremonial event will open with a presentation by last year’s scholarship recipient Elvis Jerkić. This will be followed by addresses from distinguished speakers and the presentation of awards for the most outstanding architectural achievements. As in previous years, the award recipients will be presented on stage through a documentary film format — the film Twist (Zasuk), directed by Matevž Jerman and photographed by Rok Kajzer Nagode.

The awards ceremony will take place in the relaxed atmosphere of the garden of Plečnik House (in case of rain, in the inner atrium of the City Museum of Ljubljana) and will be presented by jury president Andreas Ruby. The keynote speaker will be Renata Salecl. Guests and award recipients will also be addressed by Andreas Ruby, followed by a speech from Prof. Boštjan Vuga, president of the Board of the Jože Plečnik Architect Foundation, and the formal handover of the Foundation’s leadership to the new president, Prof. Peter Gabrijelčič. Deputy Mayor of the City Municipality of Ljubljana, Rok Žnidaršič, will conclude the ceremony by inviting all attendees to the opening of the exhibition Artifactson the first floor of Plečnik House, followed by a relaxed garden reception and the traditional gathering of award recipients, architects, friends, and supporters of architecture.
