16. 10. 2025
On Thursday, October 16, 2025, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) hosted a working breakfast for stakeholders involved in the promotion and communication of architecture in Slovenia. The meeting, co-organized by MAO and the Jože Plečnik Fund, arose from an initiative to foster a broader discussion on collaboration and synergies among various organizations and individuals.
To begin with, the invited organizations summarized their mission and vision for the next five years in brief, five-minute presentations. These concise presentations provided participants with a clearer insight into the operating formats and target groups of the individual actors. Building on this, a discussion emerged regarding the fragmentation of architectural communication, opportunities for greater coordination, better international promotion of Slovenian architecture, and the identification of themes and audiences that are currently underrepresented.
Participants agreed that the diversity of approaches is valuable, but that greater visibility and effectiveness could be achieved through better information exchange, a potential shared calendar, and occasional coordinated projects. The meeting was not intended for making final decisions, but rather for establishing an open dialogue and generating initial ideas for future collaborations. They agreed that the meetings would be nomadic; the next one will be organized in March 2026 at ZAPS.
